Sembiring Delitua General Hospital was originally established as a Mother and Child Hospital in 1954. This hospital continued to grow, so that on April 11, 1987 it obtained a permanent permit from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia through Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 0286/Yanmed/RSKS/1987. Sembiring Deltua General Hospital is under the auspices of the Sembiring General Hospital Foundation which also manages educational institutions in the form of the Midwifery Academy (AKBID), the Academy (AKPER) and the Deli Husada Delitua College of Health Sciences (STIKes).

Sembiring General Hospital is located on Jalan Besar No. 77 district. Delitua Kab. Deli Serdang. The Sembiring General Hospital building was built on a land area of ??20,000 m2, which is located in 1 complex with the campus of the Midwifery Academy (AKBID), Academy (AKPER), S1 Department of Pharmacy, S1 Department of Nursing, S1 Department of Public Health, NERS Professional Study Program, and Postgraduate (S2) Department of Public Health. In daily life, Sembiring General Hospital is run on the Vision, Mission, and Motto.
